Paving & Striping
Work began July 7, 2026 with utility relocation efforts. Asphalt was removed along the entire route at the start of construction. Utility work continues Local traffic only allowed. All detours will be posted.
As early as mid-July 2026 primary road widening reconstruction will begin with curb and gutter work. Coordination with Elementary school occurred on 7/30 to accommodate safe routes for children.
Paving operations will take place in 2 different stages. Paving for the first phase will take place on the northern half of the route and is scheduled for August 14 & 21. The second half of paving will happen around mid-September and should take roughly one week to complete. Crews will finish by painting lines and installing street signs right after paving.

2200 N Intersection Closure
10/2026
Starting as early as Monday, Sept. 14, the intersection of 3600 W and 2200 N will be fully closed to all traffic for utility work involving deep trenches. For everyone’s safety, the closure is expected to last for up to three weeks.
Expected Project Completion
Construction cleanup and final inspections marks the conclusion of the 3600 West infrastructure improvement.
Safe Route to School
Due to ongoing construction on 3600 West, children will need to use an alternate route to ensure their safety. We have coordinated with Plain City Elementary to establish a designated safe path away from the work zone. Please review the flyer below for the updated pedestrian route.
Safety Reminder: Keep Children Away from the Work Zone
For everyone’s safety, please keep children and pets away from the construction area at all times. Heavy equipment, open trenches, and changing traffic patterns can create hazards that may not be obvious. Never allow children to play near cones, barricades, or machinery, and remind them to stay on sidewalks and use designated crossings only. Thank you for helping keep our community safe during construction.
